What is Alcohol-Related Brain Damage?

Alcohol-Related Brain Damage is a condition caused by the effects of long-term alcohol misuse on the brain, often resulting in difficulties with memory, concentration, problem-solving, planning and everyday decision-making. Some people may also experience changes in mood, behaviour or their ability to manage daily tasks independently.

At Vane Hill, care begins with a thorough assessment and a personalised care plan tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. Our multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and specialist mental health professionals who work together to support physical health, nutrition, communication and rehabilitation. Through practical, everyday activities such as preparing meals, managing personal routines and developing life skills, we help residents make meaningful progress at a pace that is right for them.
